Dice Studio enables you to create and manage every type of dice, for virtually all board games; not only the classic, 6-sided dice, but also the special ones needed in race simulation, fantasy adventure or war campaign. You can build new dice choosing shape (from 4-sided to 30-sided), color, and specific numeric values or graphic symbols for each side.
Dice can be grouped as you like, allowing you to keep different sets available, specific for each game.
You can associate with every face a graphic symbol, selected from an embedded library with 100 predefined symbols; samples include weapons, smiles, alpha characters, meteo symbols, currency symbols, and others. And if you need other symbols, you can export the original ones from Dice Studio, then modify them with an external graphic editor: you can insert drawings, photos, and any image at your disposal, and finally reimport then, customizing your dice with unprecedented freedom.
Dice throwing is simulated on a virtual table, with a simple, effective 3D visualization; you can throw them moving the device as youre accustomed with real dice. Then all you have to do is wait until they stop rolling... and cross your fingers!

Pros and cons of Dice Studio app for iPhone and iPad

Dice Studio app good for

I have really appreciated this app for role games maniacs and Risikos friends. Really usable this app: free to define all dices different kinds... It shows a professional job with esperts software project leaders and beta testers!!! Good job my friend Marco!!!
Im trying to figure how such a "simple" app could be so darn slow on my Ipod Touch 3Gen. Honestly, I couldnt care less for the mediocre animation (no offense to the developer, Im sure it was difficult to put together), but this app has streamline to be desired. Ill take 2D, non-animated dice if that means a smooth app! Of note, I timed how long the app took to respond and execute a roll and it came out to approximately ~5 seconds for the first roll, ~16 seconds for subsequent rolls. Needless to say, I cant wait for an improvement to be made, and until then Ill be using computer scripts for my dice rolling.
I have to wonder what you are thinking. Find another dice app? But this is the only one with the ability to fully customize your dice. The randomization is off? And I suppose that you have checked, of course not skewing the information in your favor in any way.. Right. Now. I have had no problems with this app, it has in fact been the only dice app I have found that is compatible with heroscape, DnD, and any other game that I might want to play. Here is my old review, for posteritys sake: Good quality, good versitality, good simplicity. This is the only app I could find which allows for changing the numbers on the dice. It also allows for easy switching on and off of dice in a particular set. @ developer: A few things you could add to make it absolutely f-ing amazing: First, a simple one. Add the ability to change a side of the die to zero and blank. Blank isnt important in most games, but a lot of games have a zero. Next, if youre feeling really ambitious, add the ability to make sides of dice pictures. You could just use set symbols, or provide a sample set and allow for pics from the users library. Lastly, the ability to change the background would be soooooo cool. They have it in many other apps, so Id like it in yours. Ty. Hope to see some of this in an update. @ New Buyers: Its a really good buy. I dont want to be like those idiots who say "BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!", but it is awesome. Buying it will support more upgrades and make it better so more people will buy it and etc. So buy it. Cuz its really good. Thats my old review. All of this has been added thanks sooooo much to the developer of this game. Kudos to you for creating an app that blows away all other dice apps in usability and versitility!!!!!

Some bad moments

How can you screw up such a simple program? The customization is very limited. For some reason you cannot combine symbols with digits. The 4d is very difficult to read. The randomization is off. The slide controls are impossible to set accurately. Find another dice program.
Really crappy. Very slow. All the dice and sets disappeared. Had to reinstall. Recreated the custome dice and reroll keeps the same faces. The dice never change!
Good idea. Horrible implementation. Mach Dice blows this away. Make Dice blows this away. This app took my $ away.
